Nutrition with Carmen is the trading name of Carmen Silvia Flucus, a qualified Nutritional Therapist based in Malta, VAT-registered, and member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP), United Kingdom. These terms govern the nutritional therapy services provided through this website and through Practice Better, the platform used for bookings and client management.
Before our first session you will be asked to confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. Please speak with me if there is anything you would like clarified.
Practitioner identity and scope
Nutrition with Carmen provides personalised nutritional and lifestyle advice based on naturopathic and functional health principles. Nutritional therapy is a complementary discipline. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The services provided aim to support general health and wellbeing and do not replace care provided by a medical doctor. Clients are advised to consult their GP or specialist for any medical concerns.
Payment
Payment can be made either in full at the time of booking, or in instalments with the first instalment paid at the time of booking the first consultation. Instalment payment plans are available for both the Foundations Programme and the Comprehensive Programme.
Payments are made by card via the online payment system. A debit or credit card will be requested at the time of online booking. If I create the booking or package for you, an invoice will be sent that must be paid in advance.
Cancellations and no-shows
Any sessions missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a 100% cancellation charge. Non-attendance, including no-shows, will also be charged in full.
If you need to cancel at short notice, please let me know at the earliest convenience so we can reschedule. You can do this by emailing carmen@nutritionwithcarmen.eu.
It is your responsibility to have a working internet connection for consultations via video link. Full consultation charges apply for scheduled sessions that are unable to connect for reasons within your control.
A 15-minute wait window applies to all sessions. Once 15 minutes of your appointment has elapsed and you have not arrived, the session will be ended and classed as a no-show. If you no-show, you will be sent another invite to book a new session, which will be deducted from your package. Refunds and reschedule options are not offered for no-shows.
Client responsibility
Clients are responsible for informing their healthcare providers of any recommendations provided. Nutritional advice is personalised and not transferable.
Consultations
Consultations are conducted online via secure video platforms. In-person consultations may also be available at an agreed location in Malta, by arrangement. Each session includes nutritional advice, lifestyle recommendations, and holistic health education.
Confidentiality
The confidentiality of clients is taken seriously. There are, however, some limits and exceptions. If there are serious concerns about your safety or the safety of another person, the confidentiality policy may be adjusted.
At your initial consultation you will be asked to provide your GP's contact details as someone I may contact. I keep a record of your name, contact details, and appointment dates and times. As your practitioner, I am required to keep brief, securely stored notes about the focus of your work. Any reports I produce to evaluate the service contain anonymised data only and will not identify clients. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more details.
Please note the following

The client understands and agrees
- I am responsible for contacting my GP about any health concerns.

- If I am receiving treatment from my GP or another medical provider, I will tell them about any nutritional strategy provided, because of possible interactions between medication and the programme.
- I will tell my nutritional therapist about any medical diagnosis, medication, herbal medicine, or food supplements I am taking, as this may affect the programme.
- If I am unclear about the agreed programme, supplement doses, or time period, I will contact my nutritional therapist promptly for clarification.
- Recording consultations using any form of electronic media is not permitted without the written consent of both client and practitioner.
Limitation of liability
Nutritional therapy supports health but cannot guarantee specific outcomes. To the extent permitted by Maltese law, liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from our work together is limited to the fees paid for the affected service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for negligence causing death or personal injury, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under Maltese law.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please tell me first so I can try to put it right. You can also raise concerns directly with the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Maltese courts.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The most recent version will always be available on this page, with the "last updated" date shown at the top. Continued use of the services after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
